The annual BICA fishing derby and fish fry this past Saturday did not disappoint, with nearly 50 fishermen and fisherwomen, and over 90 attendees at the fish fry!
First prize for biggest catch (most total weight) went to the repeat winners, Rick Fournier and John Moskal. They won Jays tickets. Prize for the largest single fish went to Roc LaRiviere who won a lifetime of chocolate!
Thank you to all the many volunteers who made this such a fun and successful event, especially those who stayed after the fishing derby to clean fish!
Special shout outs to Jeff Baker for overall organization, the LaRiviere family for hosting the derby kick off, the Tremblay family for hosting the weigh in and cleaning, the Bjornson family for hosting the fish fry and making the tartar sauce, the Drolet family and Dan Lunham for cooking, Paul Sidi, Ryan Burton and Richard Lambert for the prize donations, and the many volunteers who helped with potato peeling, cutting and pre-frying (too many to name!) and everyone who brought food, a cash donation, and helped clean up.
We are truly a special community. Because of you, we can hold events such as these every summer!
